Downriver Holiday Tree Walk
Remembering Members of Our Downriver CU Family
This holiday season, Downriver CU is sponsoring a Memorial Tree at the Downriver Holiday Tree Walk in memory of the members, Board Members, and employees of our credit union family who have passed away.
We also invite our members to honor a loved one who passed away and was part of the Downriver CU community by donating an outdoor, weatherproof ornament in their memory.
Together, these ornaments will help us remember the people who remain an important part of our credit union family and in the hearts of those who loved them.
Everyone Is Welcome
You do not need to donate an ornament to participate. All Downriver CU members, families, friends, and neighbors are invited to experience the Downriver Holiday Tree Walk and join our community in remembering those we love and miss.
Downriver Holiday Tree Walk
December 12, 2026 – January 1, 2027
Gibraltar, Michigan
Presented by JOeY Foundation in partnership with the City of Gibraltar
Approximately 150 decorated and illuminated memorial trees will fill the community green space between the Cooke Community Center, 14100 Navarre, and the Gibraltar Community Center.
The Tree Walk offers a place for our community to remember, reflect, and find comfort, connection, and hope during the holiday season.
Join Us Opening Night
Saturday, December 12, 2026
Gather with us as approximately 150 memorial trees come to light and our community pauses to honor each life represented and share the names of those we remember.
The evening will also include free activities for families and community members.
Honor a Loved One on the Downriver CU Memorial Tree
If you would like to donate an ornament in memory of a loved one who was part of the Downriver CU community, complete the form below.
Choose a decoration that can withstand winter weather. Ornaments must be suitable for outdoor display and weatherproof.
Do not donate irreplaceable keepsakes, original photographs, or anything that could be damaged or lost.
After January 2, ornaments from the Downriver CU Memorial Tree will be returned to our Southgate Office and will be available for pickup through January 15, 2027.
Because we are unable to store ornaments indefinitely, any ornaments not picked up by January 15 will no longer be held after that date.
